The INTENT of our music curriculum is to Ignite the SPARK in order to ensure all children develop their musical ability and appreciation of music!
It is our aim in music that all children:
- Feel SUPPORTED in their musical journey to progress in their own musical ability through the tracking of musical skills
- Have a sense of PRIDE when performing melodies on tuned instruments and rhythms on untuned instruments
- ACHIEVE by being able to sing tunefully within a group and some will be able to harmonise
- Demonstrate RESPECT by having an understanding of world music and appreciate how significant composers influenced musical history.
- Show KINDNESS t others when composing their own compositions for performance
